Man hacked to death with a machete in Thiruvananthapuram

Guwahati: A 34-year-old receptionist was brutally hacked to death with a machete at the hotel where he was working at Kerala on Friday morning.

The incident took place at around 8.30 am in the Thampanoor area of Thiruvananthapuram.

The victim has been identified as Neelan alias Ayyappan who is a resident of Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, Ayyappan was sitting at the reception of a hotel in the Thampanoor area, was murdered by a person who came on a motorbike.

However, the entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera.

The man who was seen coming to the hotel with a bag in one hand and a machete in the other was seen without a mask and may be recognised from the clip. The heinous crime was also captured on camera.

The offender who appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties began by grabbing the victim’s hand while he was seated in his chair.

The assailant then grabbed the victim’s head and hacked him in the neck till he collapsed on the table. It took less than 30 seconds to complete the task.

According to local sources, only the receptionist and cleaning staff were present when the attack occurred because it was morning. When the murder occurred the cleaning crew was on its way to dump the trash.

The police officials stated that they have CCTV footage that clearly shows the assailant’s face.
