Manik Saha Takes Oath as Tripura CM

Guwahati: Tripura BJP chief Manik Saha has taken oath as the 11th chief minister of the state today at Raj Bhawan in Agartala.

Moreover, talking to ANI Saha said , “We will move forward with the development issue of PM Modi and the BJP. We’ll also enhance law and order in the state along with resolving the issues of the people of Tripura. There’s no political challenge for us.”

Notably, this comes just one day after Biplab Kumar Deb resigned as Tripura Chief Minister.

It is to be noted Dr. Saha (69) is a Rajya Sabha MP and the leader of the state’s political party, which will have elections in March next year.

Moreover, Dr. Saha, a professor of dental surgery, would be expected to lead the party to success in the assembly elections in the northeastern state, where the Trinamool Congress is also attempting to establish itself as a major factor.

 

It may be mentioned that Manik Saha was named hours after Deb redigned from the postof Tripura CM on Saturday.

The sudden political development came as a surprise to the people of the state.
