Manipur CM Discusses NH37 Petroleum Transport at Key Meeting

Northeast Desk, 5th August: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh held a crucial meeting on August 4 at the Secretariat to address the movement of petroleum products and tankers along National Highway 37 (NH37).

The meeting included representatives from the Consortium of Manipur Petroleum Products Transporter Fraternity, Retail Outlet Dealers, LPG Distributors, and the Drivers Association. The discussion centered on ensuring the efficient and safe transport of essential petroleum products.

Following the meeting, CM Biren Singh took to the microblogging site X to underscore the government’s commitment to maintaining smooth transportation on the National Highways. He stated, “We have unanimously agreed to commence the movement of petroleum products and tankers along NH 37 immediately. The Government is committed to ensure the smooth and efficient transportation of essential resources in the National Highways.”

The chief minister also highlighted the critical role of private companies in Manipur’s economic development and job creation for local youth. He reaffirmed the government’s support for private sector initiatives that contribute to the state’s prosperity.

Additionally, Singh emphasized ongoing efforts to foster economic growth amid challenging times, detailing various developmental projects. These include skill development programs for internally displaced people (IDPs) and infrastructure improvements aimed at bolstering the state’s economy.
