Manipur: N Biren Singh in Delhi to discuss Govt formation

Guwahati: Manipur’s caretaker Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with BJP MLA Th Biswajit Singh left for Delhi to discuss government formation.

During his visit to the national capital, N Biren Singh is expected to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, the party’s national general secretary BL Santosh, and other prominent figures.

The nature and structure of the new state cabinet, as well as the appointment of the next chief minister, will be discussed in upcoming sessions.

Meanwhile, Thongam Biswajit Singh, a senior BJP MLA who is rumoured to be running for CM, arrived in Delhi on a separate trip for a meeting with the party’s central leaders. He is a two-term MLA who served in the previous government as a cabinet minister.

Biren Singh, Thongam Biswajit, and BJP state president A Sharda Devi travelled to Delhi on March 15 after the election results were released, amid rumours of “groupism” inside the party. On March 17, the three arrived in Imphal, Manipur’s capital.

It may be mentioned that there has been a lot of conjecture regarding which of the two leaders will become Manipur’s next chief minister. The BJP Parliamentary Board will make the final decision in this matter
