Guwahati: A massive fire broke out at Marwari Thakurbari in Jorhat district of Assam on Wednesday night in which numerous cylinders exploded one after another causing the fire to spread.
According to reports, a commercial building was where the fire broke out. Although efforts were being made to put out the fire but the flames were not under control for several hours.
So far, the fire has destroyed at least eight residential structures, causing damages worth in lakhs.
According to reports, a three-story building just behind the commercial space where the fire started was also completely destroyed.
The situation got worse as the fire continues to burn and several buildings and homes in the commercial district were under danger.
Meanwhile, all the residents have been safely evacuated.
