Meghalaya Man Apprehended With Fake Currency Notes in Assam’s Dudhnoi

Guwahati, 25th April: Reports have emerged of an individual apprehended near the Assam-Meghalaya border in Dudhnoi, with counterfeit currency recovered from his possession.

The arrested individual has been identified as Songsakar Golbin Momin (30), hailing from the East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. Locals of Dudhnoi’s Damra market detained Momin after allegedly spotting him purchasing betel nuts with fake currency.

Upon apprehension, Momin was found in possession of three bundles of counterfeit Rs 500 notes, amounting to a total value of Rs 1,41,000. He was subsequently handed over to the local police for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
