Meghalaya Minister & Candidate for Election HDR Lyngdoh Passes Away
Guwahati: Former home minister and candidate for the Meghalaya Assembly Election HDR Lyngdoh passed away due to heart attack on Monday.
Lyngdoh ran as a UDP candidate from Sohiong in the upcoming election which will take place on February 27.
He collapsed earlier today while attending an election gathering and was immediately rushed to hospital.
He was contesting from the East Khasi Hills Sohiong Assembly Seat.
Chief minister Conrad Sangma expressed his sorrow at the former minister’s sudden demise.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Saddened by the sudden demise of former Minister & senior politician of the State, Shri H D R Lyngdoh. Shri Lyngdoh served the state in different capacities over the years & was a dedicated leader to the people. His demise is a great loss to Meghalaya. May his soul rest in peace.”
