Mizoram: Areca nuts worth Rs. 1.15 crore seized by CPF and Assam Rifles

Northeast Desk, 25th April: In a collaborative effort, the Custom Preventive Force and the Champhai Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a successful joint operation on April 24 in Mizoram, resulting in the apprehension of three individuals involved in the transportation of a significant quantity of dried areca nuts (betel nut). The seized areca nuts, valued at approximately Rs. 1.15 crores, were intercepted at Champhaiah Tlangsam during the operation.

Following the apprehension, the seized areca nuts, along with the individuals, have been handed over to the Custom Preventive Force for further investigation and necessary legal action.

This joint operation highlights the proactive approach of the Custom Preventive Force and Assam Rifles in combating illicit activities and upholding law and order in the region.
