More than 14,000 Bru Voters To Cast Their First Ballots

Guwahati: As many as 14,000 Bru voters will exercise their right to vote for the first time in Tripura Assembly Election on February 16.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Ushajen Mog reported that at least 13, 949 members of the recently settled Bru Community were registered to vote.

These tribal people have created 12 settlements across Tripura’s four districts.

Manik Saha who is running for office from the Town Bordowali Assembly Constituency to visit temples before casting his ballot.

A total of 310 candidates were nominated and voting began at 7 AM among them 19 nominations were rejected, 32 were withdrawn and 259 people are still in the running.
