Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio Discusses Security and Development with Spear Corps Commander

Northeast Desk, August 2, 2024 Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps, Lt Gen H S Sahi, to discuss enhancing security, fostering peace, and promoting development in the state.

The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s office, where Lt Gen Sahi and CM Rio deliberated on various issues critical to the state’s stability and progress. A release issued by the Assam Rifles highlighted the interaction, noting the GOC’s emphasis on the army’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nagaland and its people.

Lt Gen Sahi expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Nagaland government in facilitating the operations and initiatives of the army, which are crucial for maintaining peace and order in the region.

Following the meeting with CM Rio, Lt Gen Sahi visited the headquarters of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) to review their operational preparedness, further solidifying the collaborative efforts between the state government and the military in addressing security challenges.

The discussions underscore the ongoing cooperation between civil and military leadership in Nagaland, aiming to create a stable and secure environment conducive to development.
