Nagaland Filmmakers Shine at IFFI 2023
Panaji, Goa: A talented delegation from Nagaland made a significant presence at the prestigious 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Panaji, Goa.
The 10-member team, comprising aspiring filmmakers and industry professionals, immersed themselves in the nine-day cinematic extravaganza, which concluded on November 28th.
The festival provided a unique platform for the Nagaland team to network with international filmmakers, attend masterclasses, and screen their work. The event also offered invaluable insights into the global film industry and the latest trends in filmmaking.
A highlight of the festival was a special session with Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Jaju emphasized the potential of young filmmakers and encouraged them to hone their craft and aim for global recognition. He also highlighted the ministry’s focus on the Northeast region, promising increased support and opportunities for filmmakers from the region.
IFFI, recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF), is a premier film festival in South Asia. This year’s edition showcased a diverse range of films from across the globe, celebrating the power of cinema to inspire and entertain.
