Nagaland Government Advises Alternate Routes Due to Road Closure

Northeast Desk, 5th August: The Nagaland government has issued a travel advisory for commuters traveling from Tuensang to Kohima and Mokokchung, advising them to use alternate routes due to the closure of a section of National Highway 202 (NH-202).

The road between Longkhim and Mangaki on NH-202 will remain closed for restoration work following damage caused by the washing away of a culvert at km 58.00. This has led to significant road damage, prompting the government to restrict the movement of heavy vehicles along this route.

For those traveling from Tuensang to Kohima, the recommended alternate route is via Tuensang-Yangli-Zunheboto-Kohima.

Travellers heading to Mokokchung are advised to use either the Tuensang-Yangli-Suruhoto-Longsa route or the Tuensang-Longleng-Changtongya-Mokokchung route.

The authorities have emphasized the need to follow these advisories to ensure safe and timely travel during the road repair period.
