Nagaland: Kohima DC Issues Travel Advisory Due to Road Repairs

Northeast Desk, 11th August: Kohima Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant has announced a travel advisory due to extensive repair and maintenance work on Box Cutting Road. The advisory, effective from August 10 to 14, 2024, includes significant traffic restrictions to ensure public safety.

Starting August 10, the road will be completely closed to all vehicular traffic. From August 12 to 14, it will partially reopen, permitting only downward vehicular movement. The DC has advised using alternative routes via Ladies Mile Road and NHAK-TCP Gate during this period to reduce inconvenience.

Additionally, the DC reported disruptions on NH-29 caused by landslips and landslides, particularly affecting Dzuchie, Dzudza (GREF Temple), and Kezanu, Jotsoma (Old KMC dumping site). Ongoing efforts to clear debris and repair the road are contributing to further traffic delays.
