Nagaland Tragedy: State Govt announces ex gratia
Guwahati: The Nagaland government on Sunday announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the Mon incident.
According to reports, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will also make a visit on December 6 to the affected area.
The government also decided to set a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by an IGP level officer to probe the matter.
It may mention that at least 16 people lost their lives in the Oting Tiru incident in the Mon district of Nagaland where the Army opened fire on the civilians suspecting them militants.
However, the Army later issued a statement where they regrated the deaths of the civilians.
