Narendra Modi is India’s best PM, says India Today Survey

According to a survey of India Today ‘Mood Of The Nation’ which was released on Saturday finds that 66% of people still consider Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister of India for the next elections. However Congress leader Rahul Gandhi only got 8 per cent votes for the race of Indian Prime Minister, around 78% of the people found the performance of PM Narendra Modi outstanding or good while 17% considered it an average and 5% termed it poor.

But in Governance section only 11% people said that the Modi Government had improved infrastructure and it was the Government’s biggest achievement, 9% people rated the corruption free Government as a tremendous achievement. But only 1% people supported the of the Citizenship Amendment Act in Parliament.

According to the survey his popularity has grown 16% from the revocation of Article 370, Ram Mandir achievement also increased his popularity by 13% in the recent January survey. During the COVID time around 77% people rated the PM Modi handling of pandemic as good or outstanding.

On the other hand Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was rated as the best chief minister of the country according to the survey, while 15% choosed Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal. Home Minister Amit Shah topped the list of the 10 best-performing ministers of PM Modi cabinet  with 43% votes while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh came second 17%.

The survey was done by market research agency Karvy Insights between 15 and 27 July this year. In total 12,021 interviews were conducted with 67% being  in rural and 33% in urban areas. The surevy was done in 97 parliamentary constituencies in 19 states, including Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and others.
