One killed, three injured in clash over land dispute in Assam

Guwahati: One person was killed and three others were injured in a clash between two groups over land dispute in South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam on Friday.

The incident took place at Bhurakata area of the district.

The deceased person has been identified as Noor Islam aged 50.

According to reports, two people identified as Akhtar and Noor Jamal is said to be the accused of escalating the clash in the area.

Meanwhile, one of the injured persons was immediately admitted to the Goalpara civil hospital under critical condition.

Police officials from the Kalapani police station arrived at the spot and has started an investigation into the matter.

It needs to be noted that the feud between the two groups was allegedly related to land demarcation issue

However, the situation in the area remains tense.
