Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a body of a Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) engineer was found dead at his residence in Hatigarh Chariali of Guwahati on Friday.
The deceased identified as Mrinal Kalita. He was the PHED’s executive engineer.
According to reports, the engineer used a knife to slit his throat.
Mrinal’s family claimed that he committed suicide as a result of tremendous work pressure at the job.
Meanwhile, police officials have arrived on the spot and are conducting a comprehensive investigation.
It may be mentioned that the body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem.
