Guwahati: Prominent photographer and photojournalist Bidyut Moni Kalita breathed his last at the age of 47 at his residence in Dhing of Nagaon district of Assam on Sunday.
Kalita had been suffering from a major sickness for some months and was preoccupied to bed.
Dhing and the entire Nagaon district have been shrouded in melancholy due to the death of the photojournalist.
Bidyut Moni Kalita worked as a photojournalist during the 1990s.
Journalists from all across Nagaon gathered at Kalita’s home to see his final rites. Kalita was cremated at the public cemetery on Monday morning.
It may be mentioned that Kalita who was still unmarried had left behind his father and brother.
