PM Modi to Inaugurate Projects In Assam Worth Rs 8,000 Crore
Guwahati: Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on April 14 and lay the foundation stone for a number of development projects worth Rs 8,000 crore.
CM Sarma informed about PM Modi’s visit to the state for Bohag Bihu event.
CM Sarma announced a number of initiatives that will be launched by the PM including the inauguration of the 750-bed AIIMS Guwahati in Changsari which cost Rs 1,123 crore to build. Additionally, Modi will also inaugurate three new medical colleges in Nalbari, Nagaon and Kokrajhar built at a total cost of Rs 1,600 crore having total 1,500 beds.
PM Modi will be also distribute AB-PMJAY cards to 1.10 crore beneficiaries.
PM Modi will also lay the cornerstone for the $3,197 million Brahmaputra River bridge between Palashbari and Sualkuchi providing a significant infrastructure boost to the state.
A total of 11,000 dancers and drummers will perform at Sarusajai Stadium on April 14 in an effort to bring Bihu on the global stage, aiming for the Guinness World Record.
