Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Northeastern states 44 times between 2017 and 2022, the Ministry of Development of the North-East Region informed on February 9.

Further, the Indian Prime Minister claimed that with National Highways made from advanced technology and also with proper railway connectivity and airways, travelling to the northeast is a journey of comfort.

The PM added that following India’s 75 years of independence, the northeast had seen at least 75,000 militants who had chosen the violent side of the conflict return to society and start peace negotiations with the government.
