PM Narendra Modi Visits Assam for Pre-Poll Campaign Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Guwahati, 16th April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Assam, marking his presence in the northeastern state ahead of the impending Lok Sabha elections.

Scheduled to campaign in Nalbari, Assam, on April 17, Prime Minister Modi’s rally is poised to energize supporters and bolster momentum for the upcoming polls. However, as preparations intensify, Assam traffic police have implemented vehicular restrictions along the route, while district authorities have imposed a ‘no drone fly zone’ on both days to ensure security and order.

Addressing the significance of the rally, Himanta Biswa Sarma, echoing the sentiments of the election fervor, highlighted PM Modi’s scheduled campaign for BJP ally AGP in Nalbari on April 17.

Reports suggest that PM Modi will deliver a compelling address at the Govt Gurdon HS School playground in Nalbari, advocating support for AGP candidate Phani Bhushan Choudhury from the Barpeta constituency.

Upon his arrival at Guwahati Airport, Prime Minister Modi proceeded to the Koinadhara Guest House, setting the stage for a vibrant electoral campaign. Sources also indicate the likelihood of PM Modi rallying for Guwahati Lok Sabha candidate Bijuli Kalita Medhi in the GS road area, further amplifying the political fervor in Assam.
