Pulwama attack martyr CRPF ASI Mohan Lal has been awarded with the top category President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) on the eve of Republic Day. Mohan Lal who was on his duty had chased and fired at the explosives-laden car in order to stop it. The terrorist car had rammed into a CRPF bus and 40 troops including Lal were martyred.
According to Union Home Ministry 207 police bravery medals have been announced apart from 89 President’s police medals for distinguished service and 650 police medals for meritorious service.
