Quad Summit 2022: PM Modi to embark on two-day visit to Japan today
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave to Japan on Sunday evening for the second in-person Quad Leaders’ Summit on May 23.
Informing the news on twitter, Narendra Modi wrote, “This evening, I will be leaving for Japan to take part in the second in-person Quad Summit. The Quad leaders will once again have the opportunity to discuss the various Quad initiatives and other issues of mutual interest.”

The second Quad Leaders’ Summit will give the leaders of the four Quad countries an opportunity to assess the development of Quad programmes.
Modi will have 23 engagements during his 40-hour stay in Japan, including meetings with three international leaders. He will attend the Quad Summit in Tokyo on May 24 with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Scott John Morrison, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Modi will discuss the ongoing deepening of the multifaceted bilateral relations with the United States in his bilateral meeting with Biden.
Modi and Biden will also discuss regional developments as well as current global challenges.
For the first time, newly-elected Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit.
Modi will meet with Japanese business leaders to discuss ways to boost the two countries’ economic ties. He’d also communicate with the Indian community in Japan.
