Meghalaya: BSF Detain Bangladeshi National, his Indian Companion
Guwahati: A suspected Bangladeshi national has been detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya for allegedly entering into Indian territory from the state’s bordering district of East Khasi Hills on Tuesday.
According to a BSF press statement, the Bangladeshi national was attempting to hide in the bushes when he was discovered and apprehended by personnel from the 193 Bn BSF.
The detainee has been identified as 20-year-old MD Sujon Ahmed. He is a resident of Sunamganj in Bangladesh.
The BSF stated that he unlawfully entered Indian territory with the intention of working in West Bengal, where some of his compatriots are employed.
Following his questioning, BSF personnel detained an Indian companion based on his information.
He has been identified as 22-year-old MD Sukurie who is resident of Nadia district in West Bengal.
Meanwhile, both of them detained by BSF have been handed to Police Outpost Dangar East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya.
It needs to be mentioned that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against both of them.
