RTI Activist Held In BJP leader Murder Case

Guwahati: A Right to Information (RTI) activist has been arrested by the Manipur Police on Sunday in connection with the recent murder of Laishram Rameshwor Singh, convenor of the BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell.

The arrestee has been identified as Wahengbam Joykumar Singh.

The activist was taken into custody using an arrest note at his home in Wangkhei Hijam Leikai in Imphal East. A FIR has been filed against him.

According to information obtained from the SP of Thoubal District, the 50-year-old arrested man Joykumar will appear in court and be placed under custody remand in order to allow for additional investigation.

It may be mentioned that the BJP leader was shot dead by Ayekpam Keshorjit, 46 at his residence Thoubal Kshetri Leikai in broad day light on January 24.
