Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Six Assam students safely reach India
Guwahati: At least six students from Assam who were stuck in Ukraine have been evacuated by the Ministry of External Affairs and they have arrived in New Delhi and Mumbai on Sunday.
The students were received by the officials of Assam Bhawan and all the necessary arrangements done to send them home.
The Assam government is in close contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure that the students’ evacuation and journey are as smooth as possible.
Tanmayee Parashar, Siya Das, Daisy Basumatary, Kritika Basant (Guwahati), Anurag Bhuyan (Gohpur), and Himashree Kakati (Gohpur) are among the pupils who have been evacuated (Sualkuchi).
Tanmayee and Siya, who arrived in Mumbai, are staying at Assam Bhawan in Mumbai, where Assam government officials are making all the necessary arrangements to return them home.
On their arrival in New Delhi today, authorities from Assam Bhawan, Delhi greeted Anurag and Kritika. They will stay with family in Delhi and flying transport from Delhi to Guwahati will be arranged.
The Assam government has arranged for the tickets.
Himashree and Daisy arrived in New Delhi this morning and were greeted by officials from the Assam Bhawan. They would be residing at Assam House in Delhi, and Assam Government will provide their air passage from New Delhi to Guwahati.
All of the students studied medicine at various Ukrainian universities and colleges.
