Sheena Bora Spotted in Guwahati Airport, Says Indrani Mukerjea

Guwahati: Indrani Mukerjea, a former media executive and the primary accused in the death of her daughter Sheena Bora asked that CCTV footage of the Guwahati Airport be obtained from the CBI. She claimed that two lawyers had “seen” a woman this week that resembled Bora.

The court has received the request from Mukerjea (51), which is now free on bond in a petition that is accompanied by affidavits from the attorneys who claim to have seen a woman on Thursday morning who resembles Bora.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been ordered by the court to provide a response to Mukerjea’s request.

Bora (24) was allegedly strangled to death in a moving car by Mukerjea, her then-driver Shyamvar Rai and former husband Sanjeev Khanna in April 2012, apparently over a monetary dispute, according to the CBI.

According to reports, her body was set ablaze in a nearby forest in the Raigad district.

Mukerjea’s daughter from a prior relationship was named Bora.

The alleged murder came to light in 2015 after Rai was arrested in another case.

Peter Mukerjea, a former media tycoon and the husband of Indrani Mukerjea, was also arrested in connection with the case for allegedly participating in the conspiracy. The Bombay High Court awarded him bail in February 2020, while the Supreme Court provided Indrani Mukerjea with relief in May of the previous year.
