Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Inaugurates ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ in Soreng District

Northeast Desk, 27th February: In a vibrant ceremony held in Jautar, Soreng, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang graced the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ on February 27, igniting anticipation and enthusiasm among attendees.

Hosted by the Rural Development Department (RDD), the event symbolized a pivotal moment for Soreng District, ushering in a new era of community engagement and development initiatives.

Chief Minister Tamang was joined by notable dignitaries, including Sonam Lama, Minister RDD, LN Sharma, Minister AH&VS, and MN Sherpa, Minister Power, alongside MLAs, MP Lok Sabha, Advisors, Chairpersons, and esteemed guests.

Chief Minister Tamang reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to accessible governance and the upliftment of marginalized communities. He emphasized the significance of district creation in decentralizing governance and outlined various initiatives to bolster economic and financial empowerment.

The event featured the inauguration of government assets and the announcement of pivotal schemes such as the ‘Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana’ and ‘Aama Sahayog Yojana’, aimed at empowering mothers and providing crucial support to families. Additionally, Chief Minister Tamang introduced the ‘Sikkim Sisu Samriddhi Yojana’, focusing on securing the future of newborns through lifelong financial assistance.

Chief Minister Tamang distributed tokens of support to beneficiaries across diverse departments, encompassing housing schemes and youth entrepreneurship initiatives. The event also showcased efforts to enhance learning in government schools through the ‘Reading Corner’ initiative, promoting educational resources and menstrual hygiene awareness among students.
