Silchar administration prepares for Upcoming Assam Cabinet Meet As MLAs Arrived District

Guwahati: Talk of the upcoming cabinet meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Silchar this time on November 29, has been buzzing in Assam politics.

The fourth time will certainly be the charm after the meeting was postponed three times for various reasons, including two waves of flooding during the monsoon season.

Several Assam Cabinet Ministers and state government representatives have already arrived in Silchar. This meeting is eagerly awaited because it is thought to contain “positive news” regarding development for the residents of Barak Valley.

The town is being renovated as the cabinet conference draws near. The district administration and several departments are making preparations to make sure the summit goes without a hitch when the delegates and ministers arrive in Silchar. A cabinet meeting has never before been held in Barak Valley.

The Deputy Commissioner of Cachar and the Chief Minister of Assam virtually met to discuss the work’s status and preparation for meetings.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also went over the District Administration’s different construction projects and activities for development.

The roadways themselves as well as the barriers separating them are being repaired. There will surely be improvements made to the town’s transportation and hotel facilities for guests.

Several organisations, including the opposition, have started to push for their objectives through memoranda and rallies.

It should be noted that on November 23, during the 400th Birth Anniversary celebrations for Lachit Barphukan, the Assam administration had its first cabinet meeting in Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan.
