Guwahati: A youth was allegedly beaten to death by his mother over a family dispute in Lakhimpur district of Assam on Friday.
The incident took place in the Bihpuria town of the district.
The deceased youth has been identified as Sahar Ali was the son of Samrat Banu (Mother) who is a resident of Baraikhona village in the Bihpuria town.
According to reports, the accused woman admitted to murdering her son in front of the public shortly after the incident.
Reports further claimed that mother was tortured and treated inhumanely by her deceased son Sahar Ali for the last few months.
Both of them reportedly apparently had a violent disagreement, after which the youth allegedly attempted to attack his mother with a sharp machete.
However, the mother attempted to flee from the spot by smearing sand on her son’s face. She then proceeded to strike him with the bamboo stick on his head.
It may be mentioned that Sahar Ali died on the spot.
