Taliban Bans IPL 2021

Guwahati: The Taliban has banned the broadcast of the most popular and widely followed T20 league in the world Indian Premier League (IPL) , 2021 in Afghanistan.

Taliban, who took control over Afghanistan banned the telecast of the IPL 2021 due to possible ‘anti-Islamic’ contents that could be aired in the programming.

The news shared by the former Afghanistan Cricket Board media manager and journalist, M Ibrahim Momand on Twitter.

Taking the Twitter he wrote, “Afghanistan national will not broadcast the @IPL as usual as it was reportedly banned to live the matches resumed tonight due to possible anti-Islamic contents, girls dancing & the attendance of barred hair women in the by Islamic Emirates of the Taliban.”

It may be mentioned that the Taliban has already banned most forms of entertainment like movies, sports in Afghanistan as the contents shown in the programmes is against the Islamic law and women are totally barred from playing any sport in the country.
