Guwahati: A burglar looted the Jame Masjid in Guwahati’s Dakhingaon, and the entire incident was captured on CCTV.
According to mosque officials, the burglar broke into the mosque in the early hours of Friday morning.
After that, the burglar broke inside the mosque and stole all of the money from the donation box.
As per the reports, the robbed amount worth around Rs 25000, but the exact amount has yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, an inquiry has been launched after police filed a case in connection with the event.
It may be mentioned that the robbery was caught after the mosque’s Imam noticed that the main entrance was already open, according to mosque officials.
It was further reported, the Imam checked the premises and found that the donation box was broken and the money was gone.
Then he checked the CCTV footage and found that a person had broken into the campus in the wee hours.
It is to be noted that this is said to be the second such burglary at the mosque.
