Guwahati, 10th August: In a deeply distressing incident, a 15-year-old minor girl was discovered lifeless inside her residence in Assam’s Karimganj district on Sunday morning.
According to sources, the tragic event occurred the previous night, and the girl’s body was recovered early this morning in her home.
According to initial reports, the girl had been staying in the residence by herself while her parents were away visiting a close cousin for a number of days. At the time of the incident, she was alone at home.
Upon receiving information about the situation, the Karimganj Police, along with Superintendent of Police (SP) Partha Pratim Das, arrived at the scene and recovered the girl’s body.
There are suspicions that the girl may have been subjected to sexual assault and murder; however, the police have refrained from making any definitive statements, explaining that the cause of death will only be determined after a post-mortem examination.
SP Partha stated, “A police squad was dispatched after we learned that a girl had been discovered deceased inside her home. The body will be transported to Silchar for a post-mortem investigation. We are unable to speculate at this time, but additional research and the post-mortem will disclose the cause of death.”
At present, no arrests have been made in connection with this tragic incident, and authorities are diligently working to uncover the truth surrounding the young girl’s untimely demise.
