Tripura: 2 MLAs who quit BJP join Congress
Guwahati: Tripura MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha, have joined the Congress today after resigning from the Assembly and leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday.
According to national media reports, before joining the party, the two MLAs met Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi.
While addressing to the media, Barman said “Many MLAs are ready, but owing to technicalities, they may wish to wait a few more months.” The party has left everyone disillusioned. “I believe Tripura, along with Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, can go to the polls.”
However, the BJP now has 33 members in the 60-member Tripura Assembly as a result of the resignations.
