Tripura CM to be BJP’s CM face for 2023 elections
Guwahati: Tripura BJP president Manik Saha has made a major remark since taking office as Chief Minister last month.
Saha has indicated that he will be the BJP’s CM candidate in the 2023 Assembly elections, according to news agency ANI.
“I haven’t merely been the chief minister for three, six, or seven months… In next year’s vital assembly elections, I shall be the face of the BJP. I know what is what,” CM Saha was quoted saying.
Given the fact that the BJP as a party does not normally release the CM name before of elections, Saha’s declaration is significant.
Manik Saha took over as CM last month after the BJP high command made a stunning move to dismiss Biplab Deb.
Saha’s alleged statement also comes at a time when the BJP is still trying to contain internal infighting.
Tripura will hold by-elections on June 23 and the results will be announced on June 26.
