Tripura CM Unveils UNNATI 2024’s Ambitious Plan to Boost Industrial Growth and Job Creation
Agartala – Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the far-reaching potential of the UNNATI 2024 scheme, designed to elevate Tripura’s industrial landscape, during a state-level workshop at Pragna Bhaban in Agartala.
Organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with the central Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the event brought together state officials and stakeholders to discuss strategies for economic advancement and employment generation in the northeastern region.
In his address, CM Saha emphasized the scheme’s transformative objectives, revealing its target to create 83,000 jobs over the next decade with a robust budget of Rs 10,037 crore. Classified as a category B state under the scheme, Tripura will offer investment incentives for businesses committing over Rs 1 crore. “Our focus on ease of doing business has progressed steadily since 2018, and with over 2.1 lakh MSMEs employing nearly 3 lakh individuals, the opportunity for expansion is immense,” stated CM Saha.
UNNATI 2024 is part of a broader initiative to industrialize the Uttar Poorav states, creating a competitive market landscape and attracting external investments to Tripura. Registration for the scheme began on March 9 and remains open until March 31, 2026, granting prospective investors ample time to engage with the state’s growing industrial sector.
Key figures, including Director of Industries and Commerce Vishwasree B. and Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, also addressed the event. Both officials stressed the importance of state and central collaboration in driving Tripura’s industrial progress. They reiterated the role of strategic partnerships to ensure the scheme’s successful execution, positioning Tripura as an emerging industrial hub in the region.
With UNNATI 2024, Tripura aims to cement its reputation as a business-friendly state, leveraging incentives and a streamlined regulatory framework to support industry growth and sustainable development.
