Two UPRF militants killed in Assam Police encounter
Guwahati: Two suspected cadres of the United People’s Revolutionary Front (UPRF) were killed in an encounter with the Assam Police on Sunday in Karbi Anglong.
Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, DGP in a tweet stated, “Braving the elements & extreme terrain, in an encounter Assam Police in #KarbiAnglong neutralized two militants belonging to United People’s Revolutionary Front today.”

Police sources informed that they recovered two AK-47 assault rifles from the deceased ‘cadres’ but the identity of the cadres are yet to be revealed.
DGP Assam, in the tweet stated that the militants belonging to the UPRF were involved with rackets related to poaching and drugs in Churachandpur.
