Guwahati: A new strain of Covid-19, which is said to be more contagious, has been found in the United Kingdom (UK), with a spike in new cases.
It was roughly 10% more contagious than the Omicron version BA.2, according to UK health officials. XE is the name given to it.
The new XE BA.1 strain, which comes from the Omicron family, is more infectious than BA.2.
According to preliminary investigations, the XE strain has a 9.8% infection rate compared to the BA.2 strain.
It may be mentioned that a new wave of cases has been found in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and China, with the BA.2 strain being the most common.
