UPPL’s Mantu Boro Wins Assam’s Koklabari By-Poll
Guwahati: Mantu Boro of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) received 16,346 votes in the Koklabari by-election.
According to reports, the UPPL received 32,571 votes in the by-election, while the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) received 16,225 votes.
Koklabari is part of the Baksa district in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Following BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro’s retirement as an MLA from the Koklabari constituency after becoming CEM of BTR, a by-poll has been called for the Koklabari constituency.
Mantu Boro of the ruling UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance, Shangkhar Basumatary of the BPF, Hiren Sarania, and Laba Basumatary of the BPF were among the four contenders in the race (Independent).
