Guwahati, 15th September: Dilip Kumar Hazarika, a well-known actor, film critic, and veteran politician from Assam, passed away on Thursday at the age of 89. He had been suffering from age-related ailments for an extended period.
Dilip Kumar Hazarika, a resident of Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar area, was known for his notable role as Piyoli Barua in the film ‘Maniram Dewan.’ He was associated with the historic Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir in Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar for over six decades, from the 1950s to the 2010s.
His contributions to Assamese cinema and the cultural landscape of Assam are remembered and appreciated. Dilip Kumar Hazarika’s passing marks the loss of a talented and influential figure in the region.
