Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state, Assam Police has arrested two suspected drug peddlers in Goalpara district of Assam on Monday.
The incident took place in the Krishnai town of the district.
The arrestees have been identified as Noor Alom and Sofikul Islam. Both of them are the resident of Krishnai town.
Based on the input received from the area, the Goalpara Police launched the raid in the town.
According to reports, they are involved in contraband drug peddling as well as smuggling.
However, the police recovered 84 grams of brown sugar from their possession.
It may be mentioned that they are currently being interrogated by the police and further investigation into the matter is underway.
