West Bengal BJP youth leader found hanging in Kashipur
Guwahati: A man who was purportedly a Bharatiya Janata Party worker was found dead in Chitpur-Cossipore area of Kolkata at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting West Bengal on Friday.
The deceased identified as Arjun Chourasiya.
According to reports, Chourasiya was discovered hanging from the ceiling of an abandoned building.
While addressing to national media reports, the BJP has alleged that Chourasiya was allegedly assassinated before Shah’s visit to Kolkata.
Reportedly, a prime witness claimed that Chourasiya was a BJP worker. He was unquestionably murder. After the murder, he was hanged. His thighs were on the floor.
North Kolkata district BJP President Kalyan Chaubey said Chourasiya was an active karyakarta and the vice-president of BJP’s youth wing in Kolkata.
“He was quite efficient, and we had planned for him to lead a 200-person bike rally to welcome Home Minister Amit Shah to Kolkata last night. We discovered him dead in a structure at the Ghosh Bagan railway yard this morning,” Chaubey added.
In view of Chourasiya’s death, Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is set to visit Kolkata on Friday, has instructed his party to cancel any lavish welcome arrangements. Shah further stated that he would pay a visit to the deceased’s family.
Later, Shah is expected to pay a visit to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly at his residence. Shah is in Bengal for a three-day tour to boost party leaders’ morale.
It needs to mentioned that Amit Shah will attend a programme hosted by the BSF in Cooch Behar’s Tin Bigha Corridor. The Home Minister will arrive in Kolkata in the afternoon for a meeting with party MLAs and key state BJP leaders.
