Guwahati: In a sensational incident, a youth has died after falling off a moving train in Kokrajhar district of Assam under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Monday.
The incident took place near Chautara railway station in Gossaigaon.
The deceased has been identified as Gwaleshwar Nizam Ali who was a resident of Bilasipara in Dhubri district.
According to reports, Ali along with two of hisfrom, was going home from Secunderabad city in Telangana when he abruptly fell off the train and died. It is however unclear how it transpired.
Reportedly, Ali and his friends went to Secunderabad in quest of work.
His two friends said that Ali had excused himself to go to the bathroom at one point, but another passenger afterwards informed them that Ali had fallen off the train.
They immediately pulled the train’s chain to stop it and recovered Ali’s lifeless body on the tracks.
Meanwhile, police officials reached the spot and recovered the body.
