3 Killed in Flood, 1 in Landslide at Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills
Guwahati: Three people perished in Baghmara, Meghalaya, owing to flash floods, while one person died in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya, due to a landslide on Friday morning. The landslide happened near Baghmara Circuit House in the South Garo Hills.
According to reports, the landslide was caused by the state’s constant rain. The bodies, however, have been found.
Furthermore, a landslide occurred in Darrang village on the Darrang-Shnongpdeng road under Dawki PS, causing traffic disruption. Restoration work is currently underway.

“Landslide at Darrang village in Darrang-Shnongpdeng road under Dawki PS and traffic is halted bacause of blockade.Restoration work is being taken up,” West Jaintia Hills Police tweeted.
Residents and commuters in West Jaintia Hills have also been advised to remain vigilant and careful. Residents are urged not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, a landslide in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district killed four kids and injured two others on Thursday in Laitlarem hamlet, Mawphlang C&RD block.
According to the district government, the rushing muck ruined one residential house.
