Assam: Cash Seized in Anti-Violation Drive by Model Code of Conduct Cell in Dibrugarh Electoral District

Guwahati, 3rd April: The Model Code of Conduct cell has been actively engaged in curbing illegal transactions and the free circulation of liquor during the enforcement period of the Model Code of Conduct in the Dibrugarh electoral district.

Static Surveillance teams, flying squads, and video surveillance teams, stationed across all assembly constituencies in the Dibrugarh electoral district, are tirelessly conducting round-the-clock search operations to prevent violations of the model code of conduct.

This morning, in a commendable display of vigilance, a team of static surveillance seized Rs 3,51,240/- in cash from a vehicle bearing registration number AS06AG4370 at Shalmari Chariali.

Simultaneously, another team of the Flying Squad intercepted vehicle no. AS03Q7007 at Bogibeel check post, seizing Rs 2 lakh cash.

Further, a flying squad deployed in the Duliajan assembly constituency intercepted vehicle no. AR11A3021, traveling from Tinsukia to Duliajan, and confiscated ₹98,500/- in cash at Madhuban Tinali.

These concerted efforts underscore the unwavering commitment of the Model Code of Conduct cell in upholding electoral integrity and ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process in the region.
