Assam: Three Teachers Suspended in Dibrugarh for Violating Discipline Rules

Guwahati, 3rd April: Three educators in Dibrugarh, Assam, faced immediate suspension, effective April 2, following a report by the District Elementary Education Officer. The suspended teachers are identified as Jewti Das, Fozlul Woahid, and Rantu Baruah.

Both Das and Woahid, serving as Assistant Teachers, were found absent from Election Training sessions on March 21 and March 26, respectively. On the other hand, Rantu Baruah, holding the position of Headmaster, was discovered to be highly intoxicated at the training venue on March 29.

These actions were deemed to violate the Assam Govt. Servant Disciplinary and Appeal Rules of 1964.

Pending departmental proceedings, the suspended teachers will be entitled to receive subsistence allowances as per existing regulations. Additionally, they have been instructed not to leave their designated headquarters without prior authorization and are prohibited from engaging in any profession or trade during the suspension period.
