Assam declared as ‘disturbed area’ for next six months
Guwahati: The Assam Government has declared the entire state as “Distributed Area” for six months.
In an official statement state government stated, “As per powers conferred under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, the Governor of Assam has declared the entire state of Assam as ‘disturbed area’ up to six months with effect from February 28, 2022, unless withdrawn earlier.”
The state government than has reasoned that state has been declared disturbed area in view of the law-and-order situation in the past six months in Assam.
