Guwahati: Sonitpur Police busted a fake gold biscuit and arrested one person in the connection.
The accused was identified as Rafiqul Islam aged 22 years and he is a resident of the Kurkani area of Tezpur city of the district.
The police officials caught the accused red handed while he was trying to sell the fake gold biscuit to a party.
The racket reportedly used to dupe innocent persons by selling fake gold as real.
Moreover, around four fake gold biscuits were recovered from his possession.
On 28.02.2022 a team of Sonitpur Police led by SI Simanta Pathak,IC Borghat OP arrested one fake gold seller namely Rafiqul Islam(22), S/O Harej Ali , Vill- Kurkani, PS- Tezpur (Assam).The accused was caught red handed with four pieces of fake golds which he was was trying pic.twitter.com/3Cm1yIpLJA

The police have initiated a legal action against the accused.
