Guwahati, 21st May: A tragic accident occurred in Barkatpur village, Sargola area of Karimganj district on May 20, resulting in the death of a man and serious injuries to his wife.
The incident happened when 34-year-old Vijay Roy was plugging in his phone to charge. Sources report that Vijay was electrocuted during the process and was unable to free himself from the charger, leading to his untimely death.
His wife, Tina Roy, rushed to his aid upon witnessing the distressing scene. In her attempt to save him, Tina sustained severe burn injuries. She was immediately transported to Karimganj Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The community is in shock over the sudden loss of Vijay Roy and the critical condition of Tina Roy.
