Karimganj, Silchar, Nagaon, Diphu, and Darrang emerge as focal points of political activity, each presenting its unique dynamics and challenges.
Karimganj:
With its substantial Muslim population accounting for approximately 65%, Karimganj embodies a complex political terrain. Traditionally a Congress and AIUDF stronghold, the BJP’s victory in 2019 marked a significant shift, propelled by support from Hindu and other voters. The recent delimitation adds a new dimension to the contest, intensifying campaign efforts from major parties.
Silchar:
